UpLift AI's
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Policy

Policy Statement: At UpLift AI, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Our mission is to integrate diversity into every aspect of our operations — from product development to workplace culture — ensuring our technology serves and uplifts people from all backgrounds and identities.

Key Objectives of the DEI Program

  1. Representation: Build a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.

  2. Inclusion: Create a culture where all voices are heard, respected, and valued.

  3. Equity: Ensure fair access to opportunities, resources, and support for all employees and stakeholders.

  4. Impact: Design AI solutions that are culturally sensitive and accessible to diverse populations, eliminating biases in mental health care delivery.

Innovative DEI Program: “Elevate Inclusion”

1. Inclusive AI Design Framework:

  • Collaborate with diverse user groups to identify potential biases in data and algorithms.

  • Implement a "Bias Watchdog" committee of multidisciplinary experts to review and mitigate risks in AI outputs.

  • Regularly test the platform with underrepresented communities to ensure inclusivity in tone, language, and functionality.

2. Diversity by Design Recruitment:

  • Establish partnerships with organisations and universities focused on underrepresented talent in tech and mental health fields.

  • Create a mentorship program connecting diverse early-career professionals with leaders in the company.

  • Use blind recruitment techniques to minimise unconscious bias during hiring.

3. Cultural Awareness Integration:

  • Conduct regular cultural competency training for employees and AI developers, ensuring our platform respects cultural nuances in mental health care.

  • Embed localised features into the platform that adapt to different cultural norms and languages, ensuring relevance in global markets.

4. Equity-Focused Metrics:

  • Track and publish DEI metrics annually, including hiring, promotion rates, and platform accessibility for underserved communities.

  • Use data insights to inform continuous improvement initiatives.

5. Community Collaboration:

  • Partner with non-profits and community organisations to extend UpLift AI’s reach to marginalised populations.

  • Offer subsidised access to our platform for underserved communities, funded through grants and partnerships.

6. Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Team:

  • Maintain an active Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Team comprising individuals with lived experiences from diverse backgrounds (including LGBTQ+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, disability, and culturally diverse communities).

  • Ensure the advisory team's input actively shapes our DEI strategies, product development, and organisational culture.

Expected Outcomes

  1. A more diverse and engaged workforce that brings fresh perspectives and drives innovation.

  2. AI technology that genuinely reflects the needs and values of the diverse populations it serves.

  3. Recognition as a leader in ethical, inclusive AI development and workplace practices.

UpLift AI’s DEI program is not just a policy—it’s a commitment to ensuring that innovation in mental health care benefits everyone, regardless of their background or identity.
